Back from the abyss, with strength to spare!

Dee and I are kicking off 2011 on a very positive note: after a year of watching our '90 Lumina become so run down that we couldn't travel outside the bounds of Columbus without spending mucho dinero on rentals, we found a wonderful used car, a '96 Park Avenue Buick in terrific condition and runs like a dream.

Which means we'll be able to make the Who-Net meetings on a much more regular basis and not worry about the craziness and expense of rental cars anymore. I'm very much looking forward to this Friday's get-together (see the Next Meeting banner to the right). That we finally have a dependable mode of transport has taken a great depression off my shoulders and given me some hope after a long year of darkness.

I've already begun work on the programming for this year's InConJunction. With the possibility of having only eight new Doctor Who episodes to schedule (the first seven episodes of the new season and the 2010 Christmas special), this leaves the field wide open for more classic Doctor Who episodes, as well as The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood. I want very much to schedule more live programming as well (Are You Smarter Than a Sci-Fi Geek?, the panels discussions, the Who-Net raffle), including the return of Lord Letterman's Stupid Companion Tricks. And, of course, I'm putting together some new DW video tributes.

So stay tuned, because things are going to get very interesting in the next couple of months....
